It is written, For unto you it is given on the BEHALF of Christ, NOT ONLY to BELIEVE on Him, but also to SUFFER for His SAKE. (Philippians 1:29)
This is to say, you as a genuine Child of God in Christ in this World must understand that following or believing in Christ in this World is a two sides coin, of which one side is SUFFERING with Him and the other side is GLORYING with Him. True! That is why Apostle Paul humbly declared that I may KNOW HIM, and the POWER of His RESURRECTION, and the FELLOWSHIP of His SUFFERINGS, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Apostle Paul by understanding the benefits of SUFFERING for Christ's sake in this World called it, the FELLOWSHIP of His SUFFERING. Hmm! This truth has not entered yet into the hearts of so many Christians of this age of one sided messages that dwells only on prosperity gospel on how to MAKE it in Christ materially in this World and never on how to SUFFER for Christ's sake in this World as well. Many forgets that in Christ, no gain, no pain, no cross, no crown, no mess, no message, no trial, no triumph and so on. Even the Jesus Christ they ignorantly claim to believe or follow did not get to where He is in God His Father without first encountering and experiencing SUFFERING. True! The Bible reveals to us that though He (Jesus Christ) were a Son, yet LEARNED He OBEDIENCE by the things which He SUFFERED; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. Let me tell you the truth, whether you like or not, the Spirit of God will at a certain time and season of your life in Christ in this World lead you into some kind of wilderness (suffering) encounters and experiences that are ordained for you by God to develop your CHARACTER (obedience to God and patience with God) like CHRIST in this World. True! The Bible reveals to us that for whom He (God) did foreknow, He also did PREDESTINATE to be CONFORMED to the IMAGE of His SON, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Therefore, the Bible counsels us, wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, LET US lay aside every WEIGHT, and the SIN which does so easily beset us, and LET US run with patience the race that is set before us, LOOKING unto JESUS the author and finisher of our faith; WHO for the JOY that was SET BEFORE HIM endured the CROSS (suffering), despising the shame, and is SET down at the right hand of the throne of God. So, don't be deceived, before that miracle or lifting will happen for you in Christ, God will permit some form of TESTS and TRIALS to see to your faith in Him and to develop your character toward becoming like Christ in your thoughts, words and actions. True! That is why the Bible counsels us, my brethren, COUNT IT ALL JOY when YOU FALL INTO DIVERS TEMPTATIONS (tests and trials); knowing this, that the TRYING OF YOUR FAITH works patience. But let patience have her PERFECT work, that you may be perfect and entire, WANTING nothing. So, be ready at any time as a genuine Child of God to stand on what is right and godly in the sight of God irrespective of the SUFFERING you may encounter or experience for Christ's sake because after it, God will faithfully and certainly compensate you for your SUFFERING and LOSS. Therefore, the Bible assures us, humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you. Be sober, BE VIGILANT; because your ADVERSARY THE DEVIL, as a roaring lion, WALKS about, SEEKING whom he may DEVOUR: whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the World. But the God of all grace, who had called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, AFTER THAT YOU HAVE SUFFERED A WHILE, make you PERFECT, ESTABLISH, STRENGTHEN, SETTLE you. It pays to resist the Devil's offers and stand right, stay patiently and godly in the side and sight of God, though you may SUFFER for a while, but not without SETTLEMENT from God that will shame the Devil, your enemies and glorify the name of the Lord in your life in due time. If you COMPROMISE His ordained SUFFERING (test and trial of faith to proof your obedience to Him or patience with Him) for you in Christ at any point in time, you as well COMPROMISE His ordained SETTLEMENT (miraculous compensation and lifting) for you in Christ at such time and season of your life.True!
