Previously, I informed you that COMPARING of oneself with another person or people is UNWISE and has the capability of denying a genuine Child of God, his or her DIVINE DESTINY discovery and fulfilment in Christ in this World. Read write-up (6) of this series for more.
For today, one of the hindrances to DIVINE DESTINY discovery and fulfilment in Christ in this World is ungodly and unguided DESIRES.
Your DESIRES are ungodly, when they are not in conformity with the WORD OF GOD in the Bible. (Psalm 1:1-3).
Your DESIRES are unguided, when they are not in conformity with your DIVINE DESTINY (reason for your existence by the revelation of the SPIRIT OF GOD) in Christ in this World. (Colossians 4:17).
The Bible reveals in 1 Timothy 6:6-12 that:
But GODLINESS with CONTENTMENT (in Christ in this World) is GREAT GAIN. (1 Timothy 6:6).
For we brought NOTHING into this World, and it is certain we can take NOTHING out. (1 Timothy 6:7).
And having FOOD and RAIMENT (clothes) let us be therewith CONTENT. (1 Timothy 6:8).
But they that will be RICH fall into temptation, a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful LUSTS (ungodly and unguided DESIRES), which drown men in destruction and perdition. (1 Timothy 6:9).
For the LOVE OF MONEY is the ROOT of ALL EVIL: which while some COVETED (ungodly and unguided-ly desire) after, they erred from the FAITH, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:10).
But thou, O MAN (child) of GOD, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. (1 Timothy 6:11).
Fight the good FIGHT OF FAITH, lay hold on to ETERNAL LIFE, whereunto thou art also called, and has professed a good profession before many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:12).
Permit me to ask you to PAUSE and PONDER on the scriptural verses stated above for few minutes.
What is your personal take on the counsel of the above stated scriptural verses? And how has it transformed or transforming your thinking, speaking and living in Christ in this World?
JESUS CHRIST says that you and I cannot SERVE (love) two masters at same time. That we will love one over the other. That you and I cannot SERVE (love) GOD and MAMMON (money or things of the World) together at the same time. That we will love one and hate or despise the other. (Matthew 6:19-34; Mark 12:28-31).
That means, you are currently either truly serving (loving) GOD or consciously (or unconsciously) serving (loving) MONEY in this World. Period! No more, no less!
That means, you are currently either truly serving (loving) GOD or consciously (or unconsciously) serving (loving) the THINGS OF THE WORLD in this World. Period! No more, no less! (1 John 2:15-17).
It takes unpopular sacrifice and conscious effort to think, speak and live GODLY and in CONTENTMENT in Christ in this World. However, that is why you are a LIVING SACRIFICE of God in Christ in this World by the help of the SPIRIT OF GOD in YOU. (Romans 12:1,2; Romans 8:1-30).
It takes uncommon sacrifice and conscious effort to think, speak and live a GODLY LIFE based on the WORD OF GOD and leading of the SPIRIT OF GOD in Christ in this World. However, that is why you are a LIVING SACRIFICE of God in Christ in this World by the help or the SPIRIT OF GOD in YOU. (Romans 12:1,2; Romans 8:1-30).
It takes uusual sacrifice and conscious effort to think, speak and live a GUIDED LIFE based on DIVINE DESTINY (reason for existence) discovery and fulfilment in Christ in this World by the help of the SPIRIT OF GOD in YOU. (1 Corinthians 9:19-27; 2 Timothy 2:1-7; Romans 8:1-30).
Are you paying the PRICE you are expected by God to pay in Christ in this World daily or are you enjoying the PRIZE the World (Satan) is offering you daily? (Luke 4:5-8).
Ungodly and unguided DESIRES in Christ in this World hardly aids DIVINE DESTINY discovery and fulfilment in Christ in this World. Take note! (Philippians 4:8,9; Psalm 10:7-14; Joshua 1:8).
That is why the Bible reveals that you and I should present our BODIES (that drives ungodly and unguided desires within us) a LIVING SACRIFICE, holy and acceptable unto GOD as our REASONABLE service to Him in this World. That we should not be CONFORMED (to the ungodly and unguided desires) to this World, but TRANSFORM our lives by RENEWING (with the Word of God) our minds, to prove that which is good, acceptable and perfect WILL (of our DIVINE DESTINY) of God in Christ in this World. (Romans 12:1,2).
The people of the World has Satan's permission to think, speak and live PROUDLY (that is, in moment-trend) in the World. But we, the people of God have God's permission to think, speak and live HUMBLY (that is, in moderation-trend). (Philippians 4:5-7).
What kind of LIFESTYLE are you thinking, speaking and living in Christ in this World?
Godly or ungodly? Contented or lustful? Humbly or proudly? (1 Timothy 6:6-12; James 1:12-15; James 4:1-10; Philippians 4:5-7).
This (your kind of lifestyle) will determine if God can trust you enough with the KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING, WISDOM, POWER and PROVISIONS of your DIVINE DESTINY discovery and fulfilment in Christ in this World. True!
He (God) says that you and I should lay aside every WEIGHT and SIN (ungodly and unguided DESIRES) that easily beset or entice US, and let us RUN with PATIENCE, the RACE that is individually, specifically and uniquely set before US in Christ in this World, looking unto JESUS CHRIST, the Author and Finisher of our FAITH. (Hebrews 12:1-3; James 1:12-15).
