Today's Focus: The spiritual GAP between YOU being a CHILD of God and a SON of God in Christ!
There is a confusion in the Body of Christ of the usage of the phrase CHILD of God and SON of God in different instances in the Bible. But a careful study of the Bible reveals a clear difference in meaning between the two phrases used. This will be our focus today.
Now, when one genuinely gives his or her life to JESUS CHRIST as his or her personal Lord and Saviour by believing Him with his or her HEART and confessing Him with his or her MOUTH, he or she become BORN AGAIN (recreated or regenerated by God in Him - Jesus Christ by His Holy Spirit). (Romans 10:8-10; Ephesians 2:5-10).
By the above experience, God spiritually give BIRTH to humans as His own spiritual CHILDREN in Christ in this World. True!
God carries out His spiritual birth in humans by sending the SPIRIT of His resurrected SON (Jesus Christ) into the spirit of humans at their genuine moment of salvation experience and the two spirits become one Spirit. So, if you have genuinely given your life to CHRIST, you are a genuine CHILD of God in Christ in this World and your human spirit is one with the Holy Spirit of God (Christ). Congratulations! (Romans 8:16; 1 Corinthians 6:17).
However, that is just the beginning, because as a CHILD of God, you now have the POWER to move from being a CHILD of God (as a immature Christian) to being a SON of GOD (as a mature Christian) in Christ in this World. The Bible says that as many that received Him, to them gave He POWER to become the SON of God, even to them that believe on His name. (John 1:12).
Now, the question arises, what is the difference between being a CHILD of God state and being a SON of God state in Christ in this World as represented or used most times in the Bible?
Bible most times represents being a CHILD of God as a new birth and immature spiritual state (condition) and status (position) with God in Christ in this World, where the Holy Spirit of His Son is birthed within our human spirit or become one with our human spirit in this World. (1 Corinthians 6:17).
At this spiritual immature state and status, we are like new born babies with little or no physical knowledge on how to spiritually live our lives on Earth. In this instance, we are without spiritual knowledge on how to live to please God on Earth or to live victoriously and successfully in Christ in this World. We still have and operate with an IMMATURE spiritual state (condition) of mindset biblically called Carnal mind or in terms of not being LED by the SPIRIT of God to obey the Word of God, live according to the Ways of God and to do the Will of God par time par your situation. (Romans 8:1-9).
But we are called or commanded to spiritually MATURE from being a CHILD of God to being a SON of God. Apostle Paul said when he was a Child, he understood and spoke as one, but when became a man, he put away childish things. (1 Corinthians 13:11).
God do not give us at a CHILD state (immature spiritual baby) to the World to carry His Purpose for our lives in Christ. Never! He will allow us to GROW UP through several tests and trials to a SON state (mature spiritual adult) before given us as a gift to the World. Even for JESUS CHRIST, the Bible says unto us a Child (immature spiritual state) is born, a Son (mature spiritual state) is given. Halleluyah! (Isaiah 9:6; John 3:16-21; Hebrews 5:7-10).
Again, know and note this, God moves us from being a CHILD Christian (immature representative) to being a SON Christian (mature representative) of His by allowing us to go through several forms of scarcity, struggling, suffering and schooling in the hands of people. True! (Galatians 4:1-7).
In conclusion,
1. The phase CHILD of God biblically speaking, most times represents our NEW BIRTH or IMMATURE state (condition) and status (position) in Christ in this World. That is, our spiritual stage in Christ in this World, where we are lacking spiritual knowledge, understanding and wisdom to live victoriously and successfully par time par our situation in Christ in this World for God. (1 Peter 2:1-3).
It is a spiritual stage, where one CANNOT discern between good or bad or CANNOT prove by spiritual understanding, what is the good, acceptable and perfect WILL of God par time par his or her situation in Christ in this World. (Hebrews 5:12-14; Romans 12:1,2).
2. The phase SON of God biblically speaking, most times represents our MATURE state (condition) and status (position) in Christ in this World. That is, our spiritual stage in Christ in this World, where we are having spiritual knowledge, understanding and wisdom to live victoriously and successfully par time par our situation in Christ in this World for God.
It is a spiritual stage, where one CAN discern between good or bad or CAN prove by spiritual understanding, what is the good, acceptable and perfect WILL of God par time par his or her situation in Christ in this World. (Hebrews 5:12-14; Romans 12:1,2).
Every genuine Christian must desire to move from being a CHILD of God (immature Christian) to being a SON of God (mature Christian) by knowing how to be TAUGHT and be LED by the SPIRIT of God par time par his or her situation or to handle or manage any situation at hand. (1 John 2:27; Romans 8:14).
Which are you?
Think about it and do something about it, because only in your SPIRITUAL MATURE state in Christ can you truly be the divine SALT and LIGHT of the World, God expects from us, who are representatives in this World. That is, truly being the spiritual REVIVAL the World is waiting for. True! (Matthew 5:13-16; John 9:4,5).
Today's Focus from Scripture:
For as many as are LED by the SPIRIT of God, they are the SONS of God. (Romans 8:14; Galatians 5:18).
