It really makes me sad to observe how many people who call themselves Christians comprise their stands for God in Christ at the slightest opportunity, challenge or threat from man.
Many is because of the fear of man, while majority is because of the favour or PROMOTION they are desiring from men. So sad!
However, I am sent to remind and inform you today that true and lasting PROMOTION does not comes from man, but from the living God, the Creator and Owner of the Heaven and the Earth.
The Bible reveals thus:
The earth is the LORD's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. (Psalm 24:1,2).
Therefore, the Bible boldly announces thus:
For PROMOTION comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But GOD is the judge: He puts DOWN one, and sets UP another. (Psalm 75:6,7).
Do you get it?
In fact, in her victory and praise song unto God for turning her shame of being a barren woman to fruitful mother of Children, Hannah sang thus:
The LORD kills, and makes alive: He brings down to the grave, and brings up. The LORD makes poor, and makes rich: He brings low, and lifts up. He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and He hath set the world upon them. He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and He shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed. (1 Samuel 2:6-10).
It is GOD who truly PROMOTES and DEMOTES in this World. True!
Therefore,
At their place of WORSHIP, a true Christian knows where true and lasting PROMOTION comes from. Therefore, they do not comprise their walk with God in their place of work seeking favour and PROMOTION from man.
Jesus Christ said thus:
I receive NOT honour from men. But I know you, that you have NOT the love of God in you. I am come in my Father's name, and you receive me NOT: if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive. How can you believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek NOT the honour that cometh from God only? (John 5:41-44).
Again, at their place of WORK, a true Christian knows where true and lasting PROMOTION comes from. Therefore, they do not comprise their walk with God in their place of work seeking favour and PROMOTION from man.
Apostle Paul counselled thus:
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with EYESERVICE, as MENPLEASERS; but in singleness of heart, FEARING God: And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, AS to the Lord, and NOT unto men; Knowing that of the Lord you shall RECEIVE the reward of the inheritance: for you SERVE the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons. (Colossians 3:22-25).
Furthermore, at any place they are or position they are holding in the WORLD, a true Christian knows where true and lasting PROMOTION comes from. Therefore, they do not comprise their walk with God in any place they are or position they are holding in the World seeking favour and PROMOTION from man.
Apostle John counselled thus:
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides for ever. (1 John 2:15-17).
This is because the Bible reveals thus:
You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (James 4:4).
If you comprise God's standard for living in Christ in this World because your desire favour and PROMOTION from men, you automatically becomes an enemy of God. True!
But remember that God is the true and real PROMOTER of Man and I guess you know the implication of that. I guess, you are! The Lord will definitely DEMOTE and disgrace you in due time, if you eventually gets the favour and PROMOTION from man. Certainly!
Do you get it?
A true Christian knows that it is only God who:
...RAISES up the poor out of the dust, and LIFTS the needy out of the dunghill; That He may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people. He MAKES the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise you the LORD. (Psalm 113:7-9).
Furthermore, True Christians knows that:
When they humble themselves under God,
Cast all their cares upon Him and
Resist the Devil in faith steadfastly, irrespective of the temptation(s) and obstacle(s), he will bring their way, though they may suffer for awhile, God has assure them, He will perfect them, establish them, strengthened and SETTLED them. Halleluyah!
The Bible reveals thus:
HUMBLE yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: CASTING all your care upon him; for he cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom RESIST steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who had called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, SETTLE you. (1 Peter 5:6-10).
Do you get it?
God is faithful and able! Trust Him for your PROMOTIONS in life. (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
True Christians do not compromise their faith and stand in God in this World for any good or bad reason (s). True!
Are you a true Christian in this regard?
Always remember, if man promote you, it is subject to man's demotion, but if God PROMOTE you, only Him can demote you. Which do you want?
Again, if man demote you because of your stand for God, like in the case of Joseph in the prison, God in due time will certainly PROMOTE you, like in case of Joseph in the palace. True!
