I said in my introduction of this series that unknown to many Christians, one critical essence of us being saved (born again or recreated) by God in Christ in this World is to DO the WILL of GOD in Christ for us, individually and collectively in this World. (Ephesians 2:8-10; Philippians 2:12,13; John 4:34).
Today, I will be informing you of the first characteristics of knowing and understanding the WILL of GOD for you in 2017.
However, before I do so, I love to inform you that one of your responsibilities as a genuine Child of God in Christ in this World is to always seek the WILL of GOD for your life and situations in all things and in all areas. True!
Jesus Christ our ultimate Role Model for living victoriously, successfully and satisfactorily on Earth taught us how to PRAY thus:
After this manner therefore PRAY you: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your WILL be DONE in earth, as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:9,10).
The truth to be said, our lives and situations as genuine Children of God in Christ in this World should be the manifestations and reflections of the WILL of GOD for us at all times and in all. True!
The Bible reveals thus:
Wherefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, WORK out your OWN salvation with fear and trembling. For it is GOD which works in YOU both to WILL and to DO of his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:12,13).
In fact, we are saved to SHOW forth the PRAISES (glories) of GOD in Christ on us in this World. True! The Bible reveals thus:
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should SHOW forth the PRAISES of Him who has called YOU out of darkness into His marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (1 Peter 2:9,10).
Understanding that we are saved to manifest to reflect the WILL of GOD for our lives and situations par time, Apostle Paul counselled thus:
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you PRESENT your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be NOT conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the RENEWING of your MIND, that you may PROVE what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, WILL of God. (Romans 12:1,2; 1 John 2:15-17; Philippians 4:8,9).
Many Christians do not know that one of the critical reasons the Bible consistently requests that we consciously submit ourselves to God and renew our minds with the WORD of GOD in this World is for us to know the good, acceptable and perfect WILL of GOD for our lives and situations par time. True!
It is sad to see day after day how Children of God in Christ think, speak and live far from the WILL of GOD in Christ for them, either in schooling, marriage, work, business,
Therefore, I am sent to inform you before the end of 2016:
1. To consciously make up your mind to consistently ASK (pray) about the WILL of GOD for your life in Christ in this World in 2017. (Matthew 7:7-11; 1 John 5:14,15).
2. To consciously make up your mind to consistently SEEK (study) out the WILL of GOD for your life in Christ in this World in 2017. (Matthew 7:7-11 Romans 8:26-28).
3. To consciously make up your mind to consistently FIND (fast) out the WILL of GOD for your life in Christ in this World in 2017. (Matthew 7:7-11; Daniel 9; 1 Corinthians 2:9-16).
4. To consciously make up your mind to consistently SETTLE for the WILL of GOD for your life in Christ in this World in 2017. (1 Thessalonians 5:
5. To consciously make up your mind to consistently THINK about the WILL of GOD for your life in Christ in this World in 2017. (Romans 12:2; Philippians 4:8,9).
6. To consciously make up your mind to consistently SPEAK about the WILL of GOD for your life in Christ in this World in 2017. (Joshua 1:8; Matthew 12:34-37).
7. To consciously make up your mind to consistently LIVE out the WILL of GOD for your life in Christ in this World in 2017. (John 4:34; John 17:1-5; 2 Timothy 4:5-8; Colossians 4:17).
Back to today's message focus, which is to inform you about the the first characteristics of knowing and understanding the WILL of GOD for you in 2017.
The first characteristics of knowing and understanding the WILL of GOD for you in 2017 is that:
There will be a drive to SERVE God in it.
If you do not have the drive to SERVE God, then is not the WILL of GOD for you. True!
JESUS said unto them, My meat is to DO the WILL of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work. (John 4:34).
Jesus Christ has a drive to serve God by doing His WILL for Him on Earth.
Jesus Christ has a drive to please God by doing His WILL for Him on Earth.
Jesus Christ has a drive to honour God by doing His WILL for Him on Earth.
If I may ask, what drives you to SERVE God?
Is it you doing His WILL for your life in Christ in this World or doing that of yours?
Is it you doing His WILL for your life in Christ in this World or doing that of others?
Think about it!
If you do not feel like SERVING God with it, then it not the WILL of GOD for you in 2017. True!
If there is one thing you must remember in 2017, know and note that God only answers, blesses and favours His WILL in Christ for you and I in this World. True!
That is why Apostle John revealed thus:
And this is the CONFIDENCE that WE have in Him, that, if we ASK any thing according to His WILL, He HEARS us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we KNOW that we HAVE the petitions that we desired of Him. (1 John 5:14,15).
Be WISE in 2017!
Be SMART in 2017!
