Sadly to say that:
1. Many people who call them Christians in this World do not know that God has EXPECTATIONS (plans and purposes) FOR their lives in Christ in this World.
The Bible reveals thus:
For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an EXPECTED end. (Jeremiah 29:11).
2. Many people who call them Christians in this World do not know that God is working to achieve His EXPECTATIONS (plans and purposes) THROUGH their lives in Christ in this World.
The Bible reveals thus:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28).
3. Many people who call them Christians in this World do not know that God look forward to see the manifestation of His EXPECTATIONS (plans and purposes) FROM their lives in Christ in this World.
The Bible reveals thus:
For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of God. (Romans 8:19 compare with Matthew 5:13-16).
Jesus Christ came to manifest God's EXPECTATIONS (plans and purposes) FOR his life in this World.
The Bible reveals thus:
He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sinned from the beginning. For this PURPOSE the Son of God was MANIFESTED, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8 compare with Luke 4:14-21)
Therefore:
A true Christian is the one who consciously knows that God has EXPECTATION (plan and purpose) FOR his or her life in Christ in this World. True! (Ephesians 2:10).
A true Christian is the one who consciously knows that God is working to achieve his EXPECTATION (plan and purpose) THROUGH his or her life in Christ in this World. True! (Romans 8:28).
A true Christian is the one who consciously knows that God is looking forward to see the manifestation of his EXPECTATION (plan and purpose) FROM his or her life in Christ in this World. True! (John 17:1-5; 2 Timothy 4:5-8).
The Bible reveals thus:
Wherefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is GOD which WORKS in YOU both to WILL and to DO of his GOOD PLEASURE (expectation). (Philippians 2:12,13).
Do you get it?
Apostle Paul revealed how we in Christ in this World can come to the knowledge and understanding of God's EXPECTATIONS (plans and purposes) for our lives in Christ in this World thus:
By we consciously and consistently presenting our lives as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God and not conforming to this World, but transforming our lives by renewing our minds with the Word of God by the help of the Spirit of God within us. (Romans 12:1,2; 1 John 2:15-17; 1 John 2:27).
When you wholeheartedly do as Apostle counselled above, you enjoy this:
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:9-16).

Therefore,
A true Christian is the one who consciously knows that he or she must be ready at all time to allow the EXPECTATION (plan and purpose) of God for him or her in Christ to prevail in his or her life daily in this World in all matters concerning him or her.
The Bible reveals thus:
There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. (Proverbs 19:21).
A true Christian is the one whose EXPECTATION (plan and purpose) in life has become the EXPECTATION (plan and purpose) of God for his or her in Christ in this World. True!
Therefore, the Bible says thus:
So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy EXPECTATION shall not be cut off. (Proverbs 24:14 compare with 1 Corinthians 2:9-16).
I can confidently assure you that if your EXPECTATION (plan and purpose) in life is that of the Lord, it shall and I repeat, it shall not be cut off by anybody or by anything. Halleluyah! (Proverbs 23:18).
This is because the promises of God is yes and amen. Settled in heaven. Halleluyah! (2 Corinthians 1:20; Psalm 119:89,90).
This is because God is not a man that He should lie or son of man that He should repent (change His mind). Halleluyah! (Number 23:19; Romans 11:29).
This is because faithful is He who have called you and also able to do it. Halleluyah! (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
So many EXPECTATIONS (plans and purposes) of many who call themselves Christians are not from God. Therefore, their EXPECTATIONS (plans and purposes) are being cut short day by day and many are doubtful of God's love for them and His power to bring their requests to pass and they are discouraged and defeated by Satan each day. True!
Apostle John said thus:
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to His WILL, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. (1 John 5:14,15).
Their EXPECTATIONS and prayer points are according to the WILL of God.
Who owns your EXPECTATIONS? You or God? Is your prayer points according to the WILL of God for you? Think about it!
Jesus Christ taught us to pray thus:
Thy kingdom come. Thy WILL be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10).
Do you get it?
A true Christian is the one who consciously pray according to the written or revealed WILL of God for him or her par time and knows that in all things, he or she must give thanks to God. This is because whatsoever that is happening to him or her, it is the WILL of God concerning him or her working out the EXPECTATION (plan and purpose) of God for his or her life in Christ in this World.
The Bible counsels thus:
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
This means that no matter what is happening to you right now, God is still very much in Charge and control of your life. True! Believe it!
In light of the above, can you boldly say you are a true Christian in this World in this sight and side of God?
